You may wonder why it is so important for you to begin submitting videos on YouTube? Well, YouTube gets over 2 Billion visits every day! Many people find it easier and more helpful to watch a video compared to reading about the topic. Oftentimes, businesses don’t believe they have the time or means to create good video content to put on YouTube. Because of this, there is much less competition for those who are willing to take the time to create a video. YouTube is also free, therefore, making it easier to get your business recognized through entertainment.
How can I use YouTube successfully?
In order to be successful when using YouTube, remember these tips!
- Avoid advertising. We tend to look over advertisements because we see them everywhere – in the store, on our phones, and even in the car. Rather than advertising, spend time informing, educating, and entertaining. Your audience will increase if you are willing to create actual video content rather than advertisements.
- Create videos that are short. This allows you to keep the attention of your audience. Not very many people want to spend 15 minutes watching a video. Short videos allow you to get your point across without them losing interest in your video.
Figure out who is your target audience. Are you trying to target teenagers or adults? Imagine what your target group would want to see and what key words they might be searching. If cat videos are going viral, add a cat to your video! Always remember: Content is Key!
Post regularly. The more videos you post, the more likely you will get seen! You need as much content as you can get in order to increase your audience.
When you search for something on Google, don’t you almost always pick the first or second link? Just like Google, when people search on YouTube, you want your video to be at the top of the list. This is called YouTube ranking. There are many ways for you to get your videos to rank higher.
Have strong keywords. Choose keywords that people would search to find your video(s) such as ” grooming” or “tutorial.” It is important that you use those same keywords in your title, preferably close to the beginning of the title. For example, if my key words are “Bob’s” “car” “cleaning” “San Jose” “CA.” I would want to create a title to look something like this: “Bob’s Car Cleaning in San Jose CA- How to clean leather seats.” You should have around 12 key words that you can use in your title.
Create Detailed Descriptions. The more information you have in the description, the more the search engines will be able to pick up, therefore, ranking your video(s) higher.
Get likes, favorites, and comments. This can be difficult when you have a small audience, but what better place to start? Spread the word about your video(s). Ask your Mom to like the video and share it with her friends. Talk with your friends about sharing your video(s) on their social media page. Always respond to comments you receive on your videos! Who doesn’t want their opinion to be valued? Show the individuals that take the time out of their day to watch your video that they matter and you appreciate them. In reality, they are taking the time to help you out!
